Jaarbeurs awarded the 2022 UFI Digital Innovation Award for Jaarbeurs Live app

[International] Jaarbeurs has been awarded The 2022 UFI Digital Innovation Award with the Jaarbeurs Live app, powered by Cherrypicks’ SaaS location intelligence product Zeelo on 9 Sep. The UFI Digital Innovation Award recognizes the best exhibition industry initiatives with this year’s theme being digital innovation that supports the return of live exhibitions. With over 30 entries from around the world, Jaarbeurs from The Netherlands was selected by the jury for developing a smart venue concept centred on a proprietary app, Jaarbeurs Live. Jaarbeurs Live won the judges over with a wide range of exhibition venue features including indoor navigation, geofencing & proximity marketing, crowd control, ticketing and parking functions for all Jaarbeurs events to give the most improved customer journey for visitors and exhibitors.

With fusion navigation technology making use of a magnetic field fingerprint, Bluetooth beacon signals, Wi-Fi signals, pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR) and barometric pressure, Zeelo can provide accurate indoor positioning within 1-3m, find the best walkable path and offer real-time help for users to navigate to their destination exhibitor’s booth. Geofenced zones can also be set and once a user enters the zone, exhibitors can send push messages to these specified visitors.

“With 11 exhibition halls, visitors often have to search endlessly for where to go. This is now a thing of the past. With our new app, we offer visitors a digital map and navigate them accurately through our exhibition halls. We all think it’s very normal that we can navigate outside, but why shouldn’t this be possible inside? We’ve been toying with this idea for quite some time and that’s why we developed this indoor navigation app. The app offers many advantages for both visitors and exhibitors.”
